Description

Hi! Even if you’ve not thought of yourself as “the caregiving type,” pleade consider this if you’re seeking somewhat flexible part-time work in the Hood River area. Folks from all different backgrounds & interests have succeeded in this role. Common denominators are reliability, compassion and a can-do atitude. Seeking in-home care for a healthy but physically dependent client (disability due to spinal cord injury) in a clean, quiet non-smoking environment. Several part-time shifts available; depending on your availability and desired hours/week, the description below could be filled by multiple people doing a couple shifts each, or possibly one person if the fit is right.

Days: Mo, Tu, Wed, Th, Fri. (up to at least  25 hrs/wk, potentially more)

Hours: Negotiable start time (suggested between 7;00-8:30am); shift duration = up to 5+ hrs 

Pay: Base rate $19.50/hr to start. Benefits available as described below (depending which shifts, benefits available with 2-3 shifts per week). Ask in person about introductory bonus opportunities.

Depending on the day, duties include dressing, positioning, personal care and hygiene, light housekeeping and/or basic meal prep/clean-up. 

-Paid training provided; no special certification required. 

-Union membership available

Dental & Vision ins. + medical support stipend (requires 40hrs/month for 3 months, then no minimum)

Qualifications:

-Reasonably fit (able to stand, bend, squat, push and reach using sound body mechanics–transfers accomplished with a Hoyer)

-Able to pass criminal background check

-Reliable transportation

-Able to fulfill regular shifts

-Non-smoker

(Female caregivers preferred at this time)
