THE CITY OF HOOD RIVER is offering an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Right of Way and Geographic Information System (GIS) Coordinator to serve as part of the City’s Public Works team. Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the Right of Way and GIS Coordinator is responsible for providing operational, technical, and administrative support for the City’s GIS program, and assisting Public Works staff by conducting reviews and inspections of private and public construction in the right-of-way, and processing permits. 

 

Hood River seeks candidates with two years of related technical or college training in GIS, computer science, surveying, engineering technology, civil engineering, or a closely related field. Along with the possession of, or the ability to secure the ODOT ADA Curb Ramp Inspector Certification within 12 months of hire. Candidates must be able to work effectively in concert with other City Departments and outside agencies in a complex regulatory environment.  Outstanding communication skills, judgment, and systems thinking are critical to success.
