The White Salmon Valley Education Foundation (WSVEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to enrich educational opportunities for all students in the White Salmon Valley public school system. Established in 2006, the foundation has raised more than $7.4 million for our schools through local fundraising efforts and grants secured from outside organizations.
The WSVEF is seeking a part-time executive director to execute the mission and strategic plan of the foundation. Primary responsibilities include fundraising development and implementation, overseeing administrative functions, marketing, volunteer coordination, community outreach, and partnership building.
This is a flexible salaried position requiring an average of 20 hours per week, with strong potential to expand the position to support the evolving needs of our schools. The ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter and relationship builder who is passionate about education and has excellent administrative, fundraising, and communication skills.

Essential Job Functions:
Fundraising (50%): Oversee fundraising planning and execution, including large fundraising events. Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors and sponsors, identify new fundraising opportunities, support grant writing efforts, develop and implement a marketing and messaging plan, leverage social media to communicate with donors and potential funding sources.
Organizational Governance (20%): Collaborate with the Board of Directors and committees to develop and execute the foundation’s mission and strategic plan. Assist with identifying organizational priorities, needs and opportunities and ensure foundation goals are met.
Administrative Operations (15%): Work with the board treasurer, bookkeeper and financial manager to monitor foundation endowment, budget and expenses and track grant awards and invoices. Manage grant review and award process; work with legal counsel to prepare and file all necessary legal filings; handle mail, bank deposits, and donor communication; prepare agendas and notes for board and sub-committee meetings.
Community Outreach (15%): Represent the organization to school administrators, teachers, families, students, donors, businesses, and the community at large with professionalism and positivity. Share the mission, vision, goals and accomplishments of the foundation through social and news media, presentations, videos, press releases, newsletters and the WSVEF website. Maintain and build community partnerships and actively recruit volunteers and board members.

Team Player: Effectively work with other members of the organization and understand the role of the executive director within the larger nonprofit organizational structure.
Initiative: Ability to be proactive and make things happen, take personal responsibility to act without being directly managed on a day-to-day basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years experience in a leadership role in non-profit management
Experience in strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and marketing
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain credibility within and outside the organization
Strong writing, organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with Google Docs, spreadsheets, social media, and comfortable with computer technology and learning new programs
Physical activities can include standing, walking, lifting, pushing or carrying heavy objects, sitting for long periods of time, keyboarding, and other computer and desk work
Compensation
Salary: $36,000 per year for .5 FTE (average 20 hours per week).
