Description

After School Program Coordinator

Little Oak Montessori School is seeking a thoughtful, capable After School Program Coordinator to design and lead a vibrant after-school program for the 2026-27 school year. We have two campuses—one serving PreK–Kindergarten and one serving 1st–6th grade, and this role will be placed on one campus, working alongside a counterpart to ensure both programs are aligned in quality, structure, and values.

This role calls for someone who can build a robust, engaging program that draws children in, fosters meaningful activity, and reflects the values of a Montessori environment. The ideal candidate brings both creativity and strong leadership—someone who can confidently manage group dynamics, guide children toward safe and respectful behavior, and create a calm, well-supervised space at the end of the school day.

This FT position begins June 2026, schedule TBD.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a cohesive, engaging after-school program for your campus (PreK–K or 1st–6th)
  • Collaborate with the After School Coordinator at the other campus to maintain consistency in program quality and expectations
  • Lead and supervise a group of up to 15 students, ensuring safety and appropriate ratios at all times
  • Plan meaningful activities that may include outdoor exploration, creative arts, games, practical life skills, and quiet options for rest and reading
  • Establish clear expectations and guide children in developing safe, respectful behavior within a group setting
  • Create a calm, organized, and welcoming environment aligned with Montessori principles
  • Communicate clearly and warmly with families during daily pickup
  • Prepare materials, maintain organization of the space, and ensure daily cleanup
  • Collaborate with school staff to support continuity with school culture and values

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working with and managing groups of children (early childhood and/or elementary)
  • Strong skills in behavior guidance, supervision, and creating safe group environments
  • Ability to design engaging programming that supports a range of ages and interests
  • Organized, dependable, and proactive, with the ability to take initiative
  • Warm, confident presence with clear boundaries and expectations
  • Alignment with Montessori values; Montessori experience or training preferred
  • 18+ years old and able to pass a criminal fingerprint background check
