WP Stevenson Intermediate School (1 opening)

$32.50 per hour

DATES: June 22-July 24, 2026

Mon.-Wed. 8:00 am–12:45 pm, Thurs.-Fri. 8:00 am–4:45 pm

Stand-alone position does not qualify for benefits.

General Position Summary:  Classified Staff will help execute and supervise out-of-school activities with students. Our goals are to raise literacy and math achievement, improve academic and nonacademic performance, provide a safe and supportive environment and build relationships with students. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, fun enrichment activities related to STEM and/or Project Based Learning.
  • Ability to know how to make a child feel important.
  • Ability to provide opportunities that incorporate reading and math supports to decrease learning loss.
  • Ability to provide a safe, welcoming, supportive, respectful, and fun environment for students.
  • Promote the success and achievement of low-income students from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to work successfully with students of differing physical, cognitive and language abilities.
  • Ability to provide clear directions in a supportive manner to staff. 
  • Ability to work as a team to implement designed curriculum and enrichment opportunities for students.
  • Attend staff meetings and prepare for summer school June 22-26 (10 hours).


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to obtain Emergency Substitute Certification
  • Required to have a working knowledge of computer technology and equipment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or highly qualified teaching certificate
  • Interest in teaching project-based STEAM units
  • Ability to speak Spanish
  • Ability to relate with diverse youth and adults
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team member
  • Classroom management and organizational skills
  • Strong commitment to the program for consistency for students
  • Willing to drive a school van
