Building Permit Technician
$28.28 – $34.49/hr. DOE PLUS EXCELLENT BENEFITS
The City of Hood River is located in the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area. Hood River’s permanent population is 8,250 but swells to over 20,000 on summer weekends.

More adventurous residents seek out surrounding areas, including mountain peaks for various snow sports, trails for mountain biking and hiking, or world-renowned wind sports and other water sports.
The Building Permit Technician reports to the Building Official and is the primary contact in the Building Program for public inquiries related to the development review process. The position assists the public and contractors with the application process and coordinates the review and approval of building permits and inspections to ensure compliance with established City and State building and safety codes.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) years of responsible secretarial/customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
