The Development Engineer reports to the Public Works Director and administers, reviews, coordinates, and facilitates the construction of privately financed public improvement projects from pre-application plan reviews through the construction phase, final inspection, release of bonds, and acceptance of public facilities for City of Hood River ownership. The Development Engineer independently performs complex duties related to coordinating and processing public facilities issues of major development applications.
Qualifications: Must have at least three years of school at an ABET-accredited University, and
Minimum of two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
Special Requirements: Registered Engineer in Training or have the ability to become licensed within one year of hire date. Must possess a valid state driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the City’s insurance. Must be physically capable of moving about on construction work sites and under adverse field conditions.
