At Doug’s, our goal is to be the friendliest and most knowledgeable outdoor retail shop in the Columbia River Gorge by providing excellent service to everyone who walks through the door. We are lucky enough to spend our time in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge and to be a part of a supportive and tight-knit community. Whether you’re hiking, skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, out on the water, or simply enjoying life in the Gorge, we want you to bring your authentic enthusiasm for the outdoors into every customer interaction.

We have both full-time and part-time opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Welcome every customer into the store, offer assistance, and follow up with each customer. 

• Assist customers throughout their buying process, learn about customers’ activities, and recommend products that best meet their needs.

• Continuously grow your product knowledge in the hike/lifestyle, skate, snowboard, ski & water sports departments. 

• Assist with receiving inventory, merchandising displays, and maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floors.

• Accurately process sales, returns, and exchanges and other point-of-sale transactions

• Work collaboratively with your teammates and store leadership to create a positive, supportive work environment.

• Represent Doug’s values by providing friendly, knowledgeable, and memorable customer service every day.

• Curious and eager to learn about outdoor products and activities.

• Experience in skateboarding, snowboarding, skiing, hiking, or water sports

• Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative

• Maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced retail environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Able to think critically and confidently recommend products that are in the customer’s best interest.

• Must be available to work at least one weekend day and be available for Holidays.
